It is used for diamond tools, products, hard alloys, powder metallurgy, batteries, electrical and electronic, magnetic materials, conductive materials and so on. Mainly used in the manufacture of electric carbon products, friction materials, oil-impregnated bearings and powder metallurgy structural materials.

The former is decomposed by distillation and purification of carbonyl nickel [Ni (CO) 4] vapor, diluted with  and formed suitable nickel particles in the presence of gas additives (oxygen and nitrogen) by controlling temperature. The is then washed away with carbon dioxide gas and the surface oxygen content of the particles is controlled to 0.065%; The latter is formed by grinding high-purity carbonyl nickel powder with steel balls in a ball mill in the presence of suitable lubricants and liquid media to form flakes of appropriate thic
