Molybdenum iron block
Product introduction:
Ferroalloy composed of molybdenum and iron, generally containing 50~60% molybdenum, is used as an alloy additive for steelmaking. Ferromolybdenum is an alloy of molybdenum and iron. It is mainly used as an additive of molybdenum in steelmaking. Molybdenum can make the steel have uniform fine grain structure, improve the hardenability of the steel, and help to eliminate temper brittleness. In high speed steel, molybdenum can replace part of tungsten. Molybdenum, together with other alloy elements, is widely used to produce stainless steel, heat resistant steel, acid resistant steel and tool steel, as well as alloys with special physical properties. Molybdenum can increase the s
rength and wear resistance of cast iron.
Smelting method:
The raw material for smelting ferromolybdenum is mainly molybdenite (MoS2). Before smelting, molybdenum concentrate is usually oxidized and roasted in multi chamber furnace to obtain roasted molybdenum ore with sulfur content less than 0.07%. The smelting of ferromolybdenum generally adopts the method outside the furnace. The furnace is a cylinder placed on a sand base, lined with clay bricks, and used ferrosilicon containing 75% silicon and a small amount of aluminum particles as reducing agent. After the furnace charge is added into the furnace barrel at one time, the upper ignition method is used for smelting. Use initiator (nitrate, aluminum chips or magnesium chips) on the material surface, react violently after ignition, and then calm down, discharge slag and remove the furnace barrel. Molybdenum iron ingots are first cooled in the sand pit, then sent to the cooling room for flushing cooling, and finally broken and refined. The metal recovery is 92~99%. Molybdenum oxide briquettes have been widely used to replace ferromolybdenum in steelmaking industry in recent years.
Ferromolybdenum is usually smelted by metallothermic method. Ferromolybdenum is a legally inspected commodity. It is mainly produced in Jilin, Hebei, Jiangsu, Henan, Liaoning, etc., and mainly exported to the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, etc.
