Pure Iron Flux: Essential Auxiliary for Metallurgical Smelting
Product Description
Pure Iron Flux is a high-performance functional auxiliary widely used in metal smelting and casting processes. With iron content ≥99% and ultra-low impurities (S, P, Si ≤0.1%), it effectively optimizes melting efficiency, enhances metal purity, and reduces casting defects, making it an indispensable material in steelmaking, non-ferrous metal refining, and precious metal purification.

Core Features
- High Purity & Low Impurities
Iron content reaches over 99%, with strict control of harmful impurities. It avoids secondary pollution to molten metals, especially suitable for high-purity requirements in precious metal (gold, silver, platinum) refining.
- Excellent Fluxing Performance
Reduces the melting point of metal raw materials (working temperature: 800-1500ºC) and improves molten metal fluidity, cutting energy consumption by 5%-10% and boosting production efficiency.
- Efficient Deoxidation & Impurity Removal
Reacts with oxides (e.g., FeO, MnO) in molten metal to form easy-to-separate slag, while consuming oxygen to lower the oxygen content of finished metals. This minimizes casting defects like pores and cracks.
Mainly supplied as powder (100-325 mesh), with granular form available on demand. The powder form maximizes contact area with molten metal, enhancing fluxing and impurity-removing effects.

Application Fields
Used in converter/electric furnace steelmaking to reduce melting temperature of iron ore/scrap steel, promote slag formation, and adsorb S/P impurities, improving molten steel purity and ensuring mechanical properties of steel products.
- Non-Ferrous Metal Refining
Ideal for smelting copper, aluminum, nickel, etc. It reduces the impact of metal oxides on finished products, supporting high-precision copper/aluminum alloy production for electronics and aerospace industries.
- Precious Metal Purification
Assists in removing base metals (iron, copper) from gold, silver, and platinum-group metals, ensuring precious metal purity reaches over 99.99% without introducing new contaminants.
Optimizes molten iron fluidity in cast iron/steel casting, reduces internal pores and shrinkage of castings, and increases casting density and yield.
Usage Notes
- Adjust the addition amount (0.5%-2% of total raw materials) according to the type of molten metal, purity requirements, and smelting equipment (electric furnace, intermediate frequency furnace) to avoid abnormal iron content.
- Powdered products are moisture-absorbent; store in a sealed, dry environment. Dry at 100-150ºC before use to prevent bubbles caused by moisture entering molten metal.
- Wear protective gear (high-temperature gloves, goggles) during operation to avoid burns from splashing high-temperature powder.
