Tungsten carbide powder (WC) is the main raw material for the production of hard alloy, chemical type WC. The full name is that tungsten carbide powder is a black six - party crystal with metallic luster and similar hardness to diamond. It is a good conductor of electricity and heat. The melting point is 2870 C, the boiling point is 6000 C, the relative density is 15.63 (18 C). Tungsten carbide is insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, and is easily dissolved in the mixed acid of nitric acid hydrofluoric acid. Pure tungsten carbide is fragile. If a small amount of titanium, cobalt and other metals are added, the brittleness can be reduced. As the tungsten carbide cutting tool steel, titanium carbide, tantalum carbide is often added or mixtures thereof, in order to improve the anti explosion capacity.

 

The 12 cobalt tungsten carbide powder is produced by adding a certain proportion of cobalt to tungsten carbide.

The 12 cobalt  tungsten carbide powder is dark gray powder, which can be dissolved in a variety of carbides, especially in titanium carbide, which forms TiC-WC solid melt. The other compound of tungsten and carbon is carbonized two tungsten, the chemical formula is W2C, the melting point is 2860 C, the boiling point is 6000, and the relative density is 17.15. Its properties, preparation and use are the same as tungsten carbide powder.

-Tungsten carbide powder is mainly used in the production of hard alloys. In tungsten carbide powder, carbon atoms intercalate the gap of tungsten metal lattice, do not destroy the lattice of the original metal, and form interstitial solid solution, so it is also called interstitial (or inserted) compound.
